Description
Most Enterprise Data Architectures [EDAs] are defined and documented for IT purposes, using logical and physical perspectives. This modules adopts a purely business approach to EDA, using a conceptual perspective to define data domains in business terms. It walks through a series of artefacts that provide visual cues as to the data required for BI, it’s lifecycle, and its current state of quality.
Objectives & Outcomes
This module is designed to engage participants to create a meaningful and relevant training environment to:
- Understand the benefits of developing a conceptual EDA for BI purposes
- Learn how to strategically align your EDA with the business
- Define data domains in a way that mirrors the way the business consumes data
- Learn how to manage data as an asset

- Develop conceptual data maps to reveal cross-functional relationships between master data entities
